Mount Bromo (Indonesian: Gunung Bromo), is an active volcano and part of the Tengger massif, in East Java, Indonesia. At 2,329 metres (7,641 ft) it is not the highest peak of the massif, but is the most well known. The massif area is one of the most visited tourist attractions in East Java, Indonesia. The volcano belongs to the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. The name of Bromo derived from Javanese pronunciation of Brahma, the Hindu creator god. Mount Bromo sits in the middle of a vast plain called the "Sea of Sand" (Javanese: Segara Wedi or Indonesian: Lautan Pasir), a protected nature reserve since 1919. The typical way to visit Mount Bromo is from the nearby mountain village of Cemoro Lawang. From there it is possible to walk to the volcano in about 45 minutes, but it is also possible to take an organised jeep tour, which includes a stop at the viewpoint on Mount Penanjakan (2,770 m or 9,088 ft) (Indonesian: Gunung Penanjakan). The best views from Mount Bromo to the Sand Sea below and the surrounding volcanoes are at sunrise. The viewpoint on Mount Penanjakan can also be reached on foot in about two hours.

Itinerary:

DAY 01. ARRIVAL SURABAYA – TRANSFER TO BROMO AREA (D)

Upon arrival at Surabaya Airport by afternoon flight meet & greet by our guide, proceed transfer to Mt Bromo Area (3hrs) for check-in and overnight. Dinner will be provided around 19.30 at your hotel.

DAY 02. EARLY MORNING BROMO SUNRISE & PENANJAKAN TOUR – TAMAN SAFARI INDONESIA – TRANSFER TO MALANG (BLD)

At 3.30 in the early morning you'll be wake up and the Jeep will bring you to the world¡¦s most famous view point at Mt Penanjakan on the rim of the Tengger caldera to enjoy the sunrise (if we're lucky) with its young volcanic including Mt Bromo and an active Mt Semeru in the background. Afterward the adventure continue to an active Mt. Bromo volcano to climb up 245 step of stairs (Horse ride is optional). Afterwards the Jeep will bring you back to hotel for breakfast and re-packing.

At 11.00 we will check-out and transfer to Taman Safari Indonesia for its wildlife animals and also watching variety of animal shows. From there we continue our trip to Malang (Batu resort) for check-in and overnight. Lunch and dinner will be provided at local restaurant.

DAY 03. CUBANRONDO WATERFALL – TRANSFER TO SURABAYA – CITY TOUR (BLD)

After breakfast at hotel, check-out and start today’s program visiting Cubanrondo Waterfall and continue to Singosari Temple, which was built on 1292AD to memory the King of Kartanegara (the last King of Singosari). Continue transfer to Surabaya for completing today’s program by visiting: Cigarette Museum to watch the production process of how to make a handmade “kretek” (local cigarette with mixture of clove), Cheng-Ho Chinese Mosque, Submarine Museum, Governors Palace (photo stop) and stop at Mirota Handicraft Center. Next, transfer to hotel for check-in and overnight. Lunch and dinner are provided at local restaurant.

DAY 04. Transfer out – Departure (B)

After breakfast, Free time until check-out time and transfer out to airport.

• Malang area. Arum Dalu hotel or similar.
• Surabaya. City Hub hotel or similar.
